David J Brown
Pianist / Composer
A British born composer, pianist, producer and engineeer, David works in his own studio based in Northern Spain.
Born in London (to an English Father and Welsh mother) and moving to Derbyshire as a child, he later attended the Birmingham Conservatoire in the UK, before his travels took him around the world including almost a decade in New York City.
Despite classical training and a natural affinity for Jazz he writes, records and performs in a multitude of genres. As a pure piano soloist he works mostly in a neo-classical, cinematic piano genre blending pure piano with string orchestras through to electronic elements.
Alongside his artist work, as a musician, producer, director, David has contributed to soundtrack, trailer and multimedia productions connected to major titles including:
The Lord Of The Rings, SpiderMan, The Matrix Revolutions, Jurassic Park, Terminator 3, Final Fantasy, Notting Hill and Planet of The Apes.
Today his music centres around expressive piano performance, atmospheric production and emotionally driven instrumental composition - often intimate, melancholic and cinematic in tone.
David comments... 'Composing is an obligation to explore the limitless possibilities that music presents; I usually end up finding something I wasn't looking for and that's the best thing about it'.
'Recording these works lets me express myself through performance and the studio technology lets me expand the possibilities further. Because of this, writing, performing and recording, for me are iterative processes that feed each other without limitation'.

Currently David is writing and recording a series of Albums called 'FILM'. The first two albums Autumn Film and Winter Film have been released with the remaining two season albums are currently in production with release expected in 2026. The titles of each piece make up a poem when read continuously.
